Same card, three bills. This page does not rank who “grades harder.” It compares the published price, the wait, and whether the tier can cover the card.
PSA is the name most buyers ask for. The cheap Value tiers are paused, so a normal card starts at $59.99 and can wait about 90–100 business days.
CGC still has a $20 Economy tier up to $1,000, about 90 working days. Bulk is $17, but only if you send at least 25 cards.
TAG publishes Standard at $59.95 with a 1,000-point score. Base may be cheaper, but TAG’s help page does not print a Base price. Return shipping is not published either.
The tool picks the cheapest open tier that covers the value you enter. It does not pick the fastest. The turnaround is on the card so you can see the trade.
A $40 card, if the grade does not raise the price
Raw $40.00, grade 10 sells for $40.00, one card. These prices are an illustration, not a market quote.
Not worth it
Not worth it. The extra money from a grade 10 does not cover the published grading cost. One fitting tier has no published price, so check that grader before you rule them out. The cost to mail the cards to the grader is not included.
Prices are the public per-card fees on PSA's trading-card grading page. Turnaround times are estimates and are not guaranteed. PSA's page says the clock does not start until the order is entered into the grading system.
US direct submission prices for Collector members, from CGC Cards' services and fees page. Associate and Premium members are listed as saving 10% on grading, and Elite members 20%. Those discounts are not applied here. Turnaround is an estimate of working days and is not guaranteed. Bulk allows a mix of card types and requires 25 cards.
Dollar prices, turnaround, and insurance caps below are from TAG's help article “What are TAG's Available Grading Services?”, which says the list is current as of September 30, 2026, and points at taggrading.com/pages/pricing. The pricing page itself did not print the dollar amounts in a way that could be copied on October 2, 2026. Base has no dollar amount in that article. TAG describes the dollar caps as built-in insurance, not explicitly as a maximum you are allowed to declare. This tool will not pick a tier whose published insurance cap is below the match value.
Run the numbers
Pokémon and sports cards use the same published prices here. The tier is the cheapest open one that covers the card.
